ABOUT JULIA
Julia is a New York City based lyricist, actor, and director. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, she graduated The Boston Conservatory and received a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre with an emphasis in Directing (cum laude). Julia is a graduate of The BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, the BMI Bookwriting Workshop, and is a current member of their Advanced Workshop. She is also a proud member of Maestra.
As a writer, Julia has written for Red Mountain Theatre Company’s Holiday Spectacular, Brooklyn Children’s Theatre’s production of Sweet Tooth, and was a staff writer for the digital theater company Pixel Playhouse. Along with her writing partner, Fernanda Douglas, she is currently writing a commissioned musical for Nashville Children's Theatre, an original musical for young actors, In BeTWEEN (The Wright Way, NYC), and a future project in animation with actor/producer Jordan Fisher.
As an actor, she has appeared in productions with The Red Mountain Theatre Company (starring as Patrice in the regional premier of 13 The Musical) and as a soloist in concert with Jason Robert Brown. She was also featured in several shows while at at The Boston Conservatory including Clairee in Steel Magnolias and Brenda (u/s Mabel) in The Pajama Game.
As a director, Julia developed the Off-Broadway premiere production of Fallen Skies for the New York International Fringe Festival and has directed many children's theatre productions.
Julia adores making silly puns, colorful crafts, and delicious blueberry pies in Brooklyn with her precious dachshund puppy, Cricket.
